Careers in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science are as you likely know two of the fastest growth job categories today. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics both are expected to grow by 2031 by over 30% which is 6x the average job growth rate of 5%.

Already today there is a shortage of those with the right skill, so it’s a great time to explore careers in either of these two fields. Additionally, what makes these careers interesting is almost every industry from media to finance to retail to manufacturing and more all need those with the ability to not only take large amounts of information and make them useful. So if you pursue either you can likely find any number of companies in differing industries that will be looking for someone like you.

Also both fields are relatively new, if you said Data Science or Artificial Intelligence over 10 years ago most people wouldn't even know what you were talking about.   As often when you're looking at an internship or job opportunity make sure you look at the description, not the title. Given the actual roles will vary from company to company and so we recommend taking part in a project like the one you're about to start or get an experience that immerses you so you understand what it really means to be part of this growing industry.
